Who Is This For?

Our German programs and courses are for students for whom German is a second or foreign language.

It is important to note that programs and courses in German language and culture are intended for French-speaking students and are not suited for students who do not master French.

Why?

  • Learn or perfect your German in optimal conditions with the necessary support;
  • Prepare for studies in German;
  • Prepare for an internship or work in German;
  • Learn more about German cultures;
  • Prepare for a trip in a German-speaking country or region;
  • Compounds: Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz!

What?

Programs offered in German:

Students who wish to enrol in individual or elective courses in German can make their selection during the registration period. A list of courses available to all students is available online (information in French). The list of courses offered at École de langues (information in French) is available in the Programs and Courses menu item.

Placement Test

Students who have taken a German course can enrol directly in a beginner’s course without taking a placement test.

Those who have studied German before have to take the placement test (except for students who have previously taken German courses at UQAM).

The test is taken online. You’ll have to choose your level in German:

  • Beginners: A1
  • Intermediate: A2
  • Advanced: B1

Once you have taken the test, print or copy the results and contact the program administration assistant to confirm your course choices.
